“BTAP” Training
Behavioral Threat Assessment Prevention
Course Overview & Instructions
Welcome to Behavioral Threat Assessment Prevention — BTAP.
This course is designed to strengthen your awareness of observable behavior, help you recognize meaningful changes and potential threat indicators, and provide practical principles for identifying Inside and Outside Threats while emphasizing strategies intended to help avoid unnecessary confrontations.
How the Course Works
BTAP consists of four training Parts. Each Part includes a video presentation followed by a Knowledge Check covering the material presented in that Part.
The four training Parts must be completed in the assigned sequence. After viewing each Part, complete its corresponding Knowledge Check. Successful completion of each Part and Knowledge Check is required before advancing to the next Part.
After all four Parts and their Knowledge Checks have been completed, use the final Complete BTAP Training step to finalize your course record. You will then be taken to the BTAP Training Complete page, where your printable Certificate of Achievement is available.
Course Sequence
- Inside Threats
- Outside Threats — Part 1
- Outside Threats — Part 2
- Confrontational Avoidance
What to Expect in Each Part
1. Review the Part
Each Part begins with a brief overview explaining the major concepts you are about to encounter.
2. Watch the Presentation
Watch the complete video presentation and give the material your full attention before moving to the Knowledge Check.
3. Complete the Knowledge Check
Answer the Part questions to reinforce the concepts presented and demonstrate your understanding before continuing.
A Note About the Training
BTAP is not intended to teach participants to diagnose people or make clinical judgments. The focus is on observation and awareness: recognizing observable behavior, noticing meaningful changes from established patterns, understanding context, and becoming more aware when something may deserve additional attention.
Before You Begin
- Complete the four Parts in the order presented.
- Allow each video to play completely before attempting its Knowledge Check.
- Give the training your full attention and minimize interruptions when possible.
- Complete each Knowledge Check before proceeding to the next Part.
- After Part 4 and its Knowledge Check, complete the final Complete BTAP Training step to record course completion and reach your certificate.
- If you leave the course and return later, use the BTAP Training link to return directly to the course and continue where you left off.
